Mr.Kader Ahmed Ali
Message from the director of Hygiene and Environmental Health directorate.
Dear Citizens,
Your health begins not in hospitals, but in homes, markets, and the environments we share. As the Director of Food Hygiene and Environmental Health, I want to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to protecting public health through safe food practices, clean surroundings, and informed communities.
Across the Somali Region, we are working tirelessly to ensure that food sold in markets, served in eateries, and prepared in homes meets the highest standards of hygiene. We are strengthening inspections, training food handlers, and promoting good sanitation practices in collaboration with local governments and health institutions.
Environmental health is equally vital. Waste management, clean water access, and vector control are not just technical issues—they are matters of dignity and survival. We are expanding surveillance systems and community education to reduce risks and promote healthier living conditions.
But we cannot do this alone. We call on every citizen to be a guardian of hygiene. Wash hands regularly. Store food safely. Dispose of waste responsibly. Report unsafe practices. Your actions matter.
Together, we can build a region where every meal is safe, every neighborhood is clean, and every citizen is empowered to live a healthy life.
With respect and determination,
Khadar ahmed Ali.
Director, Food Hygiene and Environmental Health Directorate.
Somali Region FMHACA.
